The MTL4516C is a switch/proximity detector interface module, mainly used for connecting and controlling signals from hazardous areas to loads in safe areas. Below is its detailed introduction:
Switch/Proximity Detector Interface
Dual-channel
- For switches: Can be used in Zone 0, IIC Group, T6 hazardous areas, as well as Division 1, Group A hazardous locations.
- For proximity detectors: If properly certified, can be used in Zone 0, IIC Group, T4-T6 hazardous areas, as well as Division 1, Group A hazardous locations.
- Inputs proximity detector (NAMUR) signals compliant with the BS EN 60947-5-6:2001 standard.
- Voltage applied to the sensor: 7-9V DC (1kΩ±10%).
- Under normal conditions:
- Output closes when input current > 2.1mA (input circuit resistance < 2kΩ).
- Output opens when input current < 1.2mA (input circuit resistance > 10kΩ).
- Hysteresis: Nominal 200μA (650Ω).
- User-selectable via the switch on the side of the device.
- Line faults of each channel are indicated by LEDs; if an input line fault is detected, the channel’s output relay will de-energize.
- Open-circuit alarm: Activates when input current < 50μA, deactivates when > 250μA.
- Short-circuit alarm: Activates when input resistance < 100Ω, deactivates when > 360Ω.

- Two red LFD indicator lights (turn on when a line fault is detected)
- Open-circuit voltage (Uo): 10.5V
- Short-circuit current (Io): 14mA
- Maximum power (Po): 37mW
