This enables nanoscale sensing of the health status of rotating machinery and early fault warning. When the sensor probe is close to the surface of the rotating shaft, the high-frequency oscillating coil inside it generates an alternating electromagnetic field. This field induces closed eddy currents on the surface of the conductive shaft; the reverse magnetic field produced by these eddy currents interacts with the probe coil, resulting in a change in the coil's equivalent impedance, and this change strictly corresponds to the gap between the probe and the shaft surface.
