The PCD3.M5340 is a processor unit with Ethernet TCP/IP functionality, integrated with a web server, FTP server, and file system. It serves as the core control unit for industrial and building automation systems, enabling centralized logic control, data management, and network communication.
Two sets of memory specifications are available for different application requirements:
- Specification 1:
- User Program Memory: 1MB RAM
- Backup Memory: 1MB Flash
- Specification 2:
- User Program Memory: 2MB
- User Flash Memory (with file system): 128MB (supports long-term storage of configuration files, historical data, etc.)
The module is equipped with multiple communication and programming interfaces to meet diverse connection needs:
- USB Port: Used for connecting to the programming device (Saia PG5) to implement program downloading, uploading, and on-site debugging.
- RS-232 Interface: Suitable for point-to-point communication with serial devices (e.g., printers, human-machine interfaces/HMIs).
- RS-422/485 Interface:
- Basic function: Supports a communication rate of up to 115Kbit/s, suitable for multi-device bus communication (e.g., connecting to sensors, actuators).
- Extended function: Port 2 can be configured as a standard RS-422/485 port or a Profi-SNet port with a rate of up to 187.5Kbit/s (for compatibility with Profi-SNet protocol devices).
- Central I/O Capacity: Supports up to 1023 central input/output points, covering basic digital/analog signal collection and control.
- Expansion I/O Capacity: Additional remote input/output points can be added by connecting expansion module brackets, adapting to large-scale system expansion needs.
- Interrupt Inputs: Features 2 interrupt inputs, enabling rapid response to high-priority events (e.g., emergency stop signals, fault alarms).
- Voltage Range:
- DC Power Supply: 24VDC (allowable deviation: -20% to +25%, maximum ripple: 5%)
- AC Power Supply: 19VAC (allowable deviation: ±15%), which is converted to approximately 18VDC via bidirectional rectification.
- Compatibility: Adapts to unstable AC/DC power environments in industrial and building scenarios, ensuring stable operation.
- Typical Power Consumption: 15W (for systems with 64 I/O points, low energy consumption reduces overall system power load).
- Internal Load Capacity:
- 5V Power Output: Maximum load current of 600mA (for powering low-voltage internal components or peripherals).
- 24V Power Output: Maximum load current of 100mA (for powering small external sensors or modules).
- Built-in Real-Time Clock (RTC): Provides accurate time stamping for event recording (e.g., fault occurrence time, data collection time).
- Data Protection Function: Ensures data retention for 1–3 years (prevents loss of user programs, configuration parameters, or historical data due to power failure).
Widely used in industrial automation and building automation fields, typical applications include:
- Intelligent lighting control (e.g., automatic dimming, area-based switch control in commercial buildings).
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) management (e.g., temperature regulation, fan speed control, energy-saving operation).
- Energy metering systems (e.g., collecting and transmitting data from electricity, water, and gas meters for centralized monitoring and billing).
- General equipment control (e.g., production line process control, elevator operation status monitoring, and fault alarm).
